Muhmenlay

Bollendorf

The Muhmenlay is one of the most mysterious places in the Bollendorf forest. It is said that 300 years ago, an old muhme, a herbal witch who supplied the people of Bollendorf with medicinal herbs, lived here in a rock cave. There is a narrow, high entrance to this cave in the rock. It is said that her spirit still lives here.

The Muhmenlay can be visited during a hike through the Green Hell along the circular hiking trail no. 55 of the South Eifel Nature Park. Download the app for the Green Hell listening tour and you will also receive interesting background information.

NOTE:
The Grüne Hölle Tour Bollendorf/Rundwanderweg des Naturpark Südeifel No. 55 has won 2nd place in the competition "Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2024", category day tours! Further information...
