Short circular trail "Teufelsschlucht" (Devil's Gorge)
Bollendorf
The start and finish of this rocky tour, which is also suitable for older children, is the Teufelsschlucht Nature Park Centre. Follow the markings - a white devil's "T" on a red background - and you will soon reach the "Teufelsschlucht" (Devil's Gorge): an eye of a needle in the sandstone that deserves its name and the entrance to a fascinating world of rocks.
Crooked and crooked steps lead down into the cool, damp gorge. Be careful, duck your head and squeeze through the narrow passage! It's hard to believe that this sandstone was once a seabed... We continue along a footbridge and then down many steps again until the view opens up into the wooded valley.
The path leads along rock faces up to 30 metres high, full of weathering, cracks and crevices on the edge of the Ferschweiler plateau, up and down and with constantly surprising views. Once you have passed the narrow section at the end of another impressive gorge, you return to the plateau and soon back to the nature park centre.
