Luzienturm
Ferschweiler
Until 1876, the small late Gothic church of St. Luzia with its characteristic tower stood on the small hill on the eastern edge of Ferschweiler. Almost 50 years earlier, the village had received a new, larger church not far away, which is still the parish church today. Only the remains of the walls of the old nave are still standing, but the tower with its characteristic stepped gable remains and is a monument well worth seeing. The small village church was artfully built in the late Gothic style, with vaulted ceilings and windows with beautiful tracery. Its floor plan is clearly recognizable and individual elements of the architecture and furnishings can still be seen. A window lintel bears the date 1534; however, the stepped gable of the tower was not built until the 18th century.
